What is Swords & Slippers?
Swords & Slippers is a single-player character action roguelite from Mass Creation. Every run starts at dawn and escalates toward midnight: enemies turn deadliest as hours pass, but rewards peak at the darkest hour. Between runs you return to the castle as Prince Charming.

Which characters are playable?+
Snow White, Red Riding Hood and Rapunzel are confirmed playable, each with a distinct weapon and fighting style. The developers have said the roster grows alongside the rebellion, and the Fairy Godmother teaser suggests she may join as well.
How does the combat work?+
Combat is DMC-style character action: branching combo routes, a style meter that rewards variety over repetition, and a swap mechanic that lets you tag another heroine mid-combo without dropping the chain. Parries and dodges keep your style rank alive instead of resetting it.
Is there romance?+
Yes. In the castle hub between runs you build trust with each heroine through dialogue choices, gifts and secrets. Romance is optional, but pushing too hard activates the cursed charm mechanic, turning affection into dangerous obsession with real consequences.
When does it release?+
No release date has been announced yet. The Steam page launched in August 2026 and hit 100K wishlists in under 100 hours, 200K within five days. Wishlist notifications are currently the fastest way to learn about release and demo news.
What platforms is it on?+
PC is confirmed via Steam, with macOS support on Apple Silicon M1 or newer running Monterey 12+, plus Linux support on Ubuntu 22.04 LTS and SteamOS 3. Full controller support including DualSense is listed on the store page.
Will there be skins?+
Yes — asked directly in an April 2026 dev video, the team answered "Skins? Obviously... no joke." Alternate outfits are confirmed, though unlock methods have not been fully disclosed; run rewards and castle progress are the likely sources.
Is it hard?+
It is approachable for newcomers but demanding at the midnight peak: enemies scale continuously across the day cycle, and the deadliest hours demand mastery of dodges, parries and combo extensions. Permanent upgrades soften the difficulty curve between runs.
